The area is lovely, with mountain views, a nice little town, and restaurants offering good food and wine at reasonable prices. Visiting the home of Borjomi spring water is exciting, too. Just check with locals about the walk to the springs, since it’s a bit of a trek.

The service and the hotel were the worst I’ve experienced. Nobody cleaned the room unless I asked. The bed was hard and wrecked, and the bathroom tap was damaged and badly corroded. The TV was full of Russian channels, with only three Georgian ones: TV imedi, GDE, and 1st channel. If you break a water glass, be ready to pay five times what it costs :))) It’s listed as a 4-star hotel, but I’d give it 3 stars at most, and even that feels too generous.
