The Valley

It was freezing in the room. Reception told me the heat was already at its maximum and couldn't be turned up. It felt like an icy hell.

We had a terrible time, and I can't recommend this place. There’s nothing nearby, no restaurant or supermarket, and the restaurant was closed. It was advertised as having a spa, but that turned out to be just an empty room, with no pool or anything else. The children's playroom was empty too. The building is badly maintained and seems to be falling apart. The lights went out about ten times a day, and the apartment was left without water, electricity, and internet. There was no generator, and the elevator stopped working. On our second day, we had to carry our bags down four floors by the stairs. No one fixed the elevator for two days. The outside terrace by the patio was completely broken, and the glass looked ready to collapse, just like the rest of the building. There was nobody at reception to answer us. It was all a mess.

The kitchen equipment was in such bad shape that you couldn't cook, and the walls were so thin we couldn't sleep at night because of street noise from the bar or nightclub across from the hotel. Kids were also running and playing on the floors. Service was very poor: the room wasn't cleaned, the bed was dirty, and there were no slippers or bathrobes.

The only decent thing about apartment 210 was the balcony. The restaurant was closed, and there was no water when we checked in. The apartment wasn't clean. When we asked the housekeeper to clean it, she said she'd come back but never did. We had to put the sheets on the bed ourselves, which wasn't comfortable at all. The bedroom curtain was so thin that too much light came in for sleeping, and the toilet lid was broken. The owner wasn't cooperative.
