Gudauri Chalet

We stayed at Gudauri Chalet in mid-March. It's a lovely family-run place by the road, about a 10-minute drive from the ski resort. Our room was warm, clean, and tidy, with a view of the road and mountains in the background. The double bed was good, and hot water was always available. The lobby was cozy, with a big screen and table games. The lady we met was welcoming and kind, and cooked us a delicious dinner. The food had been frozen, but that made sense on a weekday in low season, when we were the only guests. That night, the Russia border crossing opened for heavy trucks, and traffic passed right outside our window constantly. The windows didn't block the noise well enough. Luckily we had earplugs and managed a few hours of sleep. I'd kindly suggest the owner improve the sound insulation, especially in the rooms facing the road.

The chalet was clean and cozy, and the shared area made it easy to meet the other guests. Guantsa became my ski instructor. She's knowledgeable, sweet, and a lot of fun. She took me to a great rental shop with the best price-quality balance I've found in years of winter sports. The owner offers ski-in and ski-out, takes good care of the gear, and gives each client a personal approach. My friends' instructors from the same shop were professional, kind, and fun too. Guantsa is related to the chalet hosts, so you can ask for her at reception if you're looking for a trustworthy instructor. Niniko and Mamuka were kind, helpful, and very professional. Niniko's food is delicious, generously portioned, and excellent quality, with fantastic prices. She's a very sweet and thoughtful woman. Mamuka drove us to and from the ski lift every day, and also took us to restaurants and other activities on our schedule. He made good suggestions for places to visit and eat, played great music in the car, and kept everyone's spirits up. After I went to Tbilisi, he even booked a nail appointment for me.

Nina's Chalet Gudauri is a lovely place to get snowed in. The home-cooked meals, thoughtful care, and warm welcome make it feel cozy. People naturally make friends here, share wine, and talk over a hearty bowl of soup. There are plenty of games, and laughter seems to come easily. If you're planning a snow getaway, book with Nina.

There's a lovely view from Gudauri Kai cottage, and it's close to the first ski lift. The cottage is newly built, with everything clean and new. The attentive owner will meet you there. Inside are two bedrooms, a large bathroom, and all the essentials for a stay, plus a yard and balcony.
