Residence Gudauri Hills Apart-hotel

We had a great stay and the staff were so welcoming, helping with everything we asked for. Turnik and Razam were especially helpful. The location is great, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. We’ll definitely come back.

We didn’t feel valued as guests, and the service was far below what we expected. When we asked for drinking water, we were told to come downstairs and get it ourselves instead of having it brought to the room. Then we asked for extra towels and pillows, but were told none could be provided and advised to use the sofa pillows. That’s not appropriate when you’re paying for a comfortable stay. A very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

There’s very little sound insulation. When drunk guests stumbled along the hallway at 2 a.m., people across the floor could hear them. Staff were disorganized with payments and receipts. They repeatedly misfiled receipts, then hassled guests over suspected unpaid bills. When I asked for invoices, they took too long to provide them, and the details were wrong when they finally arrived.

The hotel was clean and warm, with a modern look, and check-in was pretty quick. There are plenty of ski rental shops nearby, the slope is only a 2-3 minute walk, and the hotel has well-organized private ski storage. Parking was a real problem. We arrived the day after heavy snow, and the area in front of the hotel parking hadn’t been cleared. Cars got stuck and caused a big traffic jam, with nobody directing traffic to sort it out. It took us almost an hour to reach the parking, and the hotel didn’t have a shovel to clear the snow. The kitchen could use a cutting board, wine and can openers. A mop or somewhere to leave snowy shoes would help keep the floor dry. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, though we ate most of ours in the room.
