Veranda Hotel

It’s a small hotel, but the staff were excellent, including the bartender, receptionists, and cooks, and they all spoke English very well. The food was delicious and we had a lot of fun. The hotel arranged transport to and from the ski lift, which is about a 10-minute walk away. At check-in, the receptionist noticed from my passport that it was my birthday. Later, while I was sitting at the bar, they surprised me with a little cake and a candle. Very sweet.

The food was among the best in Gudauri, the staff were very friendly, and they arranged a free transfer to the mountain. You can also borrow used skis and ski boots for free. The price was very low, though it was the start of the ski season and there weren’t many people staying. First time I’ve given any place a perfect 10/10.

Bring earplugs if you’re a light sleeper. People smoke, drink, and talk on the bar terrace below, and it can get really noisy at night.

There’s a ski equipment storage room on the first floor, and the rooms have what you need, including a large radiator and a hanger for drying clothes after skiing. The dining room has a perfect view. I stayed at the Veranda hotel for a week from 11.02, arriving late in the evening. Ruslan met me at reception and was attentive and friendly to me and the other guests, always staying in touch. The guys also made sure I had a late dinner. Big thanks!
