Megobroba Hotel

The views and location are amazing, with huge tropical trees all around and no noise. The service isn't great, but for the price you get fair value.

We booked four nights and had no water for three of them. Apparently this happens regularly, and there's no backup system. The staff were rude and wouldn't refund us. On top of that, we had to wait nearly four hours after check-in time before we could get into our room.

We booked a month ahead and called two or three times to make sure our reservation was still in place. When we arrived, they confirmed it, then said the room we had booked wasn't available. They tried to put us in the “economy” building instead, even though we'd already said on the phone that we didn't want to stay there. The room they showed us was small, had no balcony or sea view as requested, and the white sheets were brown. Reception couldn't answer even simple questions, so we explained it all to the owner when he arrived. He told us, “If you don't like it, you're free to go, here's Castello Mare right beside.” The whole thing was deeply uncomfortable. Bad staff and bad business. There was another customer at reception with the same problem when we arrived. 0/10, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone!

It's a nice budget hotel up on a hill, and the rooms look out over the sea. Getting to the beach means walking down the stairs of about a 12-floor building, which is tiring if you don't like walking. There aren't any supermarkets nearby either.
