There’s a lovely view over Kutaisi from the balcony and garden, where you can sit and have breakfast. Inside, it’s a classic hostel with a spacious, tidy, nicely decorated dorm where you’ll likely meet other backpackers. There’s a little kitchenette with a fridge-freezer, cutlery and kettle, but no cooker, and you can use the washing machine for free. It’s a bit out of the way, especially from the bus station, and walking there feels like heading into a residential area. After turning right at the old kiosk, look for the house with a red gate or fence. The owner is helpful and speaks limited English. For a small fee, he’ll take you to places in town, including the main marshutkya station for 5GEL.
