Happy Stay Hotel

There's no reception, so everything is handled by mobile phone. Room service needs to be arranged, and sometimes gets moved to the following day. The bathroom in room 3 smelled awful for much of the day, and there wasn't any shower soap. This is a family estate with four rooms on one floor, more like a hostel with private rooms than a hotel. The kitchen was very dirty and old, with no pans. During our month there, the power went out five or six times.

The owner was polite and friendly, spoke English, and showed us places he recommended visiting. He even offered to drive us there for a reasonable fee. My friends and I stayed two nights and would happily come back. The rooms were pretty clean, with two towels and slippers for each of us. Bathrooms had soap dispensers and towel racks, and every room had AC. There's also AC in the shared area, which has a tiny kitchen and two washing machines. The walls are thin, so you can hear other guests, though it didn't bother us even with all the rooms occupied.

I found somewhere else myself, then contacted Booking.com and they helped me rebook. Just an hour before check-in, when I was nearly in Kutaisi, the owner messaged to say they couldn't accommodate me despite my reservation. They tried to send me to hotel MASPINDZELO. I've seen that name come up in reviews of other Kutaisi places. It seems some owners sell reservations to whoever pays more, or send guests to friends instead. I wouldn't call it a scam, but it felt unprofessional.

The room was comfortable, with working AC, a little fridge, warm shower water, and a clean closet. Water pressure was a bit weak, and the hot water came and went, but it was still comfortable. Food shops are about a 5-10 minute walk away, and I think the fountain is around 2 km away. The hotel is on the first floor of apartment complex No. II, diagonally to the left when you come up the stairs. Ask for the building code in advance. The wifi details are just inside the door, and if you see a washer and dryer as you enter, you've found the right place.
