The rushing water across from the hotel made a sweet lullaby, and we had a perfect view. I spent four wonderful nights at Hotel Traveler in Kutaisi, Georgia. Mr. Lasha and the whole team were incredibly friendly and hospitable. The location couldn’t be better. If you need anything for the room, just ask at reception or send a WhatsApp message and they’ll provide it. I highly recommend this hotel for a great Kutaisi stay. Thank you, Hotel Traveler.

The staff were good and cooperative, and there are department stores below the hotel. It’s in a peaceful spot by the river, within walking distance of Centre square. The room furniture quality was disappointing and not satisfactory.

We arranged airport pickup with the hotel in advance, and our friendly driver met us at Kutaisi airport. Our large top-floor room had a massive balcony looking over Kutaisi and the beautiful Rioni River, plus a large bathroom with clean towels. We rented a car for exploring, though the hotel also offers affordable day trips and helped us plan our daily excursions. We used Google Translate to communicate with the friendly, generous Georgians. We skipped breakfast, but the smell of fresh bread drifting through the window got us up and out to explore Kutaisi old town. We bought Georgian food and drinks from local vendors and relaxed in Kutaisi Park, which is within walking distance. There’s also a SIM card shop and ATMs about 300m away. The Green Bazaar is great value and a must-visit, with a big range of food, wine, fresh produce, cheese, and other locally made goods. Bagrati Cathedral is walkable, just up the hill from the hotel. Martvili Canyon, Okatse Canyon, Prometheus Caves, and the Gelati Monastery are must-see places.
