Garden House Hotel

The house was quiet and warm, and the room and its amenities were fine. Even the four-ply tissues were a nice touch. The toilet was clean, though there was a smell from the pipes or floor drain. Hot water was available only at certain times during my stay because, they said, the government was doing maintenance. There was still water in the toilet and from the tap, but in that cold weather I checked before starting a bath. I didn't need a TV, so its absence didn't bother me. The owner's a lovely, warm woman who cooks really well. I had breakfast and dinner there, both very good, and the plum jam was perfect. She speaks a little English, enough to communicate fine. I also had a good chat with a few fellow travelers despite us coming from different countries and cultures. I stayed five days in lovely Mestia and wished I could have stayed longer. I missed out on some hikes, haha. There are restaurants and pubs at reasonable prices, and the guesthouse isn't far from the center, though walking is the only option. My stay was awesome.

The family made us feel comfortable from the start, with wonderful hospitality and excellent English. Breakfast was very good, and they also prepared a lunch package for our hiking trip. The marshrutka picked us up right outside the house, and the town center was a ten-minute walk away. A perfect place to stay in Mestia. Thanks so much, five stars.

The only thing keeping this from five stars was the rain gutter draining onto the spiral staircase. I got soaked trying to walk up it :) Otherwise, the atmosphere was relaxed, the place was clean, and the beds were comfortable. Tamta was a friendly, welcoming host, and the food was delicious.

The owner was friendly and accommodating, and there’s a shared kitchen. Our room had its own bathroom, and the garden was lovely, with a good view of the mountains.
