Gistola Mestia Hotel

Our room looked out over the mountains of Mestia, and the view was amazing. The food in the restaurant was delicious, and the staff were friendly. This is one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed in. It’s a little way from the city, but only five minutes by car, so it’s no problem if you have one.

We really enjoyed the stay. The rooftop bar, with swings and panoramic views, was a highlight and a lovely place to relax in the evening. Our spacious room looked out over the mountains and river, and there’s also an indoor heated pool surrounded by scenery. The only downside was that using the sauna costs extra.

The breakfast had plenty of choices, though the vegetables didn’t look fresh and had some flies on them. Our first room was otherwise great, but there’s no air-conditioning, so staff suggested leaving the balcony door open with the mosquito net shut. Somehow the net didn’t work, and when we came back at night the room was full of bugs. Luckily, staff came quickly, checked what was going on, and moved us to another room. That room was great, and I understand this isn’t a common situation.

It was peaceful and close to nature, just what I wanted in Mestia. The hotel felt empty while I was there, but the pool was open until 11 PM and had a nice temperature. Breakfast was available, though I didn’t go. The rooms were very spacious and clean, with a minibar and all the facilities you’d need. Staff were friendly and professional. I especially appreciated the lobby bar bartender, who brought me wine after closing time. I’ve forgotten his name 😁
