Eka made our stay special, with generous breakfasts and dinners that included traditional food and distinctive Svan recipes still cooked by only a few families. The village has a charm of its own, and Melen Guesthouse is a great base for summer. It sits right on the Transcaucasian Trail, so it’s easy to head out and visit a lot of places.

We felt so well looked after thanks to the owner’s warm hospitality. The house is in a charming village with gorgeous mountain views, and the food was delicious. A real hidden gem!

A road closure led to an unexpected highlight of our Svaneti trip. The views were beautiful, the rooms were clean, and our host was friendly and accommodating. She cooked both dinner and breakfast, and her food was delicious. I recommend staying here.

Eka made me feel genuinely welcome and pointed out hiking options in several directions. I’ve travelled extensively around Georgia over the past few years, and this is one of the best homestays I’ve had. It’s a peaceful, bucolic spot for day hikes, good food, or working at a table under a tree on the hill. I finally found somewhere to get away from the summer heat and city noise.

Eka, the owner, was so welcoming and speaks English. The guest house is new and clean, with outstanding views and great food. Such a lovely family. I already miss you all. It’s the best guest house I’ve stayed at in Georgia.
