The host was great and speaks English. She cooked dinner for me and arranged a room heater for my one-night stay. My first-floor room had a decent view from the windows, and the city center isn't far away. I'd recommend it if you're not searching for the absolute cheapest place.

The house and its surroundings felt magical, and the room was clean and cozy. The host was lovely, spoke English very well, and was happy to offer advice. I especially appreciated getting to learn a few Svan words from her.

The owner speaks both English and German and is very friendly. Even in high season, she can usually find a free bed without a booking. You can also leave your luggage there if you're heading out to hike to Ushguli. A very nice place.
