I wasn't expecting such a nice find in scruffy Ninotsminda. The room was cosy, clean, well equipped, and a bargain. Set far enough back from the main road, it was quiet, too. I felt welcome, and the owner quickly arranged a ride for me the next morning in a comfortable minibus with friendly locals, across the border to Armenia.

The neighbours were noisy and had no respect, which was the one bad part. The beds, though, deserve maximum respect: super comfortable, firm enough, and no springs digging into your back. In two months travelling Georgia, this was the only good bed we found. Hotel Sonya....well done!

The owner was very nice and helpful, and the room and bathroom were spotless. Thick walls kept the neighbours' noise out. There’s a little kitchen downstairs for preparing food. The big windows let in lots of light, though the room does get quite warm in the evening.

This is simple, comfortable accommodation near Lake Paravani, in a quiet spot with shops and small local restaurants only a few minutes' walk away. The value for money is amazing. There’s a fully equipped kitchen beneath the rooms for guests, including a washing machine, and the owner let me keep my motorcycle in his workshop downstairs. We'd booked a large double but the owner's son first showed us a smaller twin. It took a bit of explaining because he spoke very little English, but it was no problem. The place is very clean and comfortable.
