Boutique hotel

For a small budget, the price is good, but I left with mixed feelings. The place is easy to communicate with since the woman looking after it speaks decent English and really tries to make guests comfortable. It’s under a five-minute walk to Carrefour, and there’s a nice 3 km walk to the lighthouse, cemetery, and town across the bridge. Our room was a reasonable size, and we could choose it since we were the only guests. It was very cold, though, and the AC took a while to warm the room. The mismatched furniture and colours weren’t ideal. The kettle worked but needed cleaning to remove calcium deposits. There was a table and two chairs, but nowhere to hang coats or clothes, which made the stay less comfortable. The curtains were thin, so a lot of light came in while we slept. The shared bathroom was clean and well kept, although water left on the floor after showers made it feel a bit unsafe. There’s a fridge, stove, table, and chairs in the pantry, but the large table leaves very little space. I had trouble finding cups and plates, though we just needed them for hot drinks. We asked for a simple breakfast, even though it wasn’t included with our room. There was no electricity from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., which was uncomfortable when we came back to rest before dinner.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the location in town is great. The woman running the place treated me almost like a second mother. Just keep in mind you need cash to stay here, so don’t book if you only have a credit card. I’d definitely recommend it.

Nothing fancy, but it was clean and felt safe, with nice rooms and a big bathroom. You can walk to everything from here. The host was great, and breakfast is available if you ask. I’ll definitely stay with them again.
