Hostel Sofya

Just a three-minute walk from the bus station. The hosts are friendly, and you can get dinner here too. Their homemade wine is delicious. Such a lovely place.

A comfortable room, a kitchen with everything we needed, and a shady garden-side spot where I could sit and read. The owners were lovely, and the marshrutka terminal is only a short walk away. Highly recommended.

I had just arrived in Sighnaghi and went into this hostel to ask whether there was a room available. The owner didn't speak English, so I used a translator on my phone, but he seemed very impatient even though he was just sitting there drinking tea. Whenever he finished translating, he nearly tossed my phone onto the table. Eventually he started shouting at me for no clear reason, and I felt I had to get out of there. I was scared I might be killed.

The breakfast was both tasty and inexpensive, and I wish I'd had more time here. The woman who runs the house was so welcoming and kind. It's a quiet, clean place to sleep, and I'd definitely recommend it to backpackers.
