Having a private room with its own bathroom was good, and the price was good too. But when I visited in May, the room was quite cold. Booking.com said the shared kitchen was available, but when I arrived I was told I could only use the microwave. I didn’t feel welcome in the home and felt like a bother. There wasn’t a common area, and the family was in the kitchen most of the time, so I felt isolated in my room. The bed wasn’t comfortable, and the dogs barked loudly at night and very early in the morning, waking me up. The Wi-Fi wasn’t very good. That might not matter to people on vacation, but it’s useful to know if you work remotely.

The owner made delicious khachapuri with cheese from the cows on the property when I asked. I was comfortable and slept well during my six nights there. It’s a lovely, quiet guest house, with a view of Kazbegi from the front yard. The owner’s daughter speaks English well. My one suggestion would be an outdoor shared patio where guests could eat and enjoy the view, since there isn’t much to see from the bedroom window.

The hosts are very kind, and there’s a young woman who speaks English, which is helpful. The rooms are really cosy and look better than others I’ve seen around Georgia at a similar price. Great value for money and an enjoyable stay :)
