Cottage Toladi

The host was friendly and ready to help. The cottage was spotless, and the view of the Kazbegi was great. Fantastic place.

We had a lovely, calm spot right outside our room where we could sit and enjoy the breathtaking view all day. The area felt quite private. The owner was super friendly, kept us updated, and checked if we needed help.

The service was really friendly, and the cottage was super cute with stylish furnishings. That view was incredible. Simply incredible.

We booked two nights from 3.2-5 and rented a 4x4. About 25 km from the cottage, police blocked the road, and we were stuck in the mountains for two and a half hours. It was a very narrow road, snow was piled along the sides so we couldn't get out of the vehicle, trucks were moving heavily in the opposite lane, and it was snowing too. It was a frightening and frustrating experience. I keep thinking what might have happened if we'd had small children with us. There were babies and elderly people in the huge traffic jam. We asked the hostess whether roadblocks like this were routine but couldn't get a clear answer, just “wait a little longer.” She didn't want to discuss a refund. In the end, my wife started feeling unwell, so we turned around and drove back to Tbilisi. We later realized that roadblocks happen there regularly, but nobody knows when. We lost a whole day and money, on top of the horrible experience.
