Sweet Home

The room was so dark that even with every light on, I needed my phone flashlight to find things. After showering, water covered the whole bathroom since there was no wet-dry separation. Our two-night booking was for a mountain view room, but the hotel gave us a standard room the first night and moved us only for the second. That mix-up held up check-in by about 50 minutes. While we waited, I tried to photograph a sleeping dog in the lobby. A security guard rudely stopped me, saying indoor photography wasn’t allowed. There was no sign, and I was only photographing the dog, not people. Dinner was another letdown. It took over an hour for all the food to arrive, some dishes were wrong, and we had to keep asking them to hurry. The food was average, yet they charged 18% tax and service fee. Our stay at the famous Rooms Hotel Kazbegi was absolutely terrible. 🀄️guo ru bu yao zhu a！！！

The drive there was the rough part. It’s a very long, winding road, and trucks slow traffic to almost a standstill. At least the views are nice while you’re stuck. There are no toilets along the road, so don’t stop for a bathroom break. It’s traumatising, and I won’t go into detail. The hotel is beautiful and definitely the best in kezbegi. The food selection isn’t huge, but it’s good by Georgian standards. I’d skip the hummus, though the aglio e olio was very tasty. The views are so pretty, I’d recommend it.

We stayed around Christmas, and the decor looked superb. Our forest view room felt more like a mountain view room, and the early morning scenery was beautiful. Dinner and breakfast were both great. Amazing hotel, breathtaking views, and I had an excellent experience. I’ll be back soon.

Lika made our dinner at the restaurant in Rooms Hotel Kazbegi feel special. She was friendly, attentive, and professional all evening, checking that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. She helped us pick traditional Georgian dishes, which were delicious, and paired them perfectly with wine. We felt very welcome, the service was excellent, and we had a wonderful time. We’d happily come back.
