Hotel Sachveno

There is a kind person here.

For the price, this much space was a really good deal. Our family had two floors to ourselves, with two bedrooms and a large living room that had its own kitchen and everything we needed. The staff were pleasant. I definitely recommend it, and I'll use this place in Tbilisi again.

We fell in love with Georgia during this trip, and Ruben, his friends, and the staff at Sachveno Hotel were a big part of that. They made us feel like close friends throughout the holiday. When we were leaving, Ruben even offered us travel money. During our 17-hour journey home, he kept calling to ask how we were, where we were, and whether he could help. I've never wanted to live in a country before, but now I do. Ruben, thank you so much. We miss you and hope to see you again. Getting into Georgia had been rough. We were stuck at the border for 22 hours, and the hotel we'd booked a month earlier turned out to be a dump. We scrambled to find somewhere else and were so relieved to get a room at Sachveno Hotel. Fruit, water, Borjomi, wine, and chacha were brought to our room, and everyone made it clear they were happy to see us. Their warmth erased a lot of the stress we'd been through. Ruben, the owner, and the whole staff went out of their way to look after us. Our original room was occupied, but they didn't turn us away. Instead, they gave us a higher-standard room for the price we'd agreed. It had three floors: a garage and pool on the ground floor, a shared living room on the second, and two bedrooms for two people each on the third. When we said the nights were chilly, they brought extra blankets and showed us how to turn on the heating. Breakfast was brought to our room whenever we woke up hungry, rather than at a set time. We were travelling with children and didn't want them getting runny noses from swimming in a cool pool. They swam around it sadly while we, two strict mothers, held firm. Then Ruben invited us and the children to use the heated pool, absolutely free. We hadn't even asked. He checked in every day to see how we were enjoying the holiday, what we needed, and how he could help. He arranged excursions, helped us buy souvenirs, suggested things to see, and found wine for relatives at wholesale prices, all while incredibly busy. Much of what they offered cost less than it did for other tourists. On one excursion, Ruben's friend took us to a restaurant, sang Russian songs with us, joked, and made toasts. The table was on the hotel, and nobody would even let us pay for it. "You are guests!!!! Relax!!!!!" All our requests were handled right away. We truly felt we were staying among close friends. This was the warmest, coziest, most wonderful holiday we've ever had.
