Even though we arrived late, George and his wife greeted us with wine and food. They’re so warm and welcoming, and the hotel has a homely feel. Their hospitality made the stay special, and we were really happy with the experience. If you want to experience Georgian hospitality, this is definitely a lovely place to stay.

The price is good, it’s clean, and the owner is lovely. The streets nearby are very old and can look a little intimidating, but the hotel itself is new and perfectly fine. It’s also close to the location.

What made Mimino T&G such a highlight for us was Tamara and George. They were probably the most caring hosts we met on our trip through Georgia and Armenia in September 2019. They met us at 6am, welcomed us with homemade breakfast and wine, shared dinner with us on the terrace, and helped sort out a problem with our rental car company. They also took us on private tours for a reasonable price, among many other things. We felt looked after in a country where we didn’t know anyone, and after travelling around Georgia we were so happy we booked another stay with them. The place itself is great too: a comfortable room, a lovely private bathroom, everything super clean, and a cozy terrace. It’s close enough to walk to the main sights, while being away from the city centre bustle. The location is convenient, and the Guest House deserves its 5 stars on its own. They don’t speak English, but that wasn’t a problem. We don’t speak Georgian or Russian, yet we managed to communicate easily, and it was fun!
