Dimitri’s enthusiasm for Georgian wine came through in everything he said, and he was an excellent host. My family and I had an incredible time here. The wine tasting was delicious and great value. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend visiting and making the most of your time in Georgian wine country.

Dimitri has rooms to rent and offers wine tastings, plus meals by appointment paired with Georgian wine, all in an impressive home museum. He’s an agronomist who worked at the only Soviet oenology research institute, knows a huge amount about wine, makes excellent wine, and has an impressive Georgian collection in his cellar. Anyone interested in wine or history should visit or stay here. It would be a great place to spend a few days.

The owner’s enthusiasm for winemaking came across even though we didn’t share a language. A translation app helped us follow the main points, and learning something new gave us a deeper appreciation of wine. We had a great time at the museum and tasting, and would highly recommend the experience. They also have a very friendly cat!

The homemade wines are really tasty, and Dimitri is a wonderful host and winemaker. His collection at home was even more interesting than the Telavi museum. A must-see while you’re in town.
