At Art House Kutateli, we had a spacious room with three beds and a private bathroom, and everything was very clean. The hostess welcomes you with tea or coffee and is really friendly, though she doesn’t speak any English. Breakfast was hearty porridge, a boiled egg, little pancakes, a fig, and tea or coffee, with no other choices. She also makes art in the hallway from gifts guests have given her, which makes it feel cosy.

The garden has a hammock where you can relax in the shade, and there's room in the yard for 2-3 cars. It’s a comfortable, quiet homestay near the bus station, with a charming hostess who brings an artistic touch to the house and cooking. Breakfast was incredibly delicious. Our room was very large, though the style wasn’t quite my taste and nothing felt tacky. The bathroom was clean, and the towels smelled lovely.

The grill deserves a mention: it has 2-3 grates and a clever airflow setup beneath the wood or coal. Open the damper and the wind feeds the fire, so there’s no need to fan it. We spent three days at this gorgeous place, and the hostess was absolutely charming. Breakfast and lunch are worth including, with delicious national dishes, homemade wine, and tkemali. There’s also a room TV with HDMI and audio, handy for watching movies.
