Guest House Lake Side

The lake Tsivi Tba was an easy 5-7 minute walk, which suited my youngest brother because he wanted to fish. There may not be many fish, but it’s a lovely, quiet, green place to relax. The guest house sits up a hill, so the daily walk was good exercise and we loved it. If you have serious breathing or heart problems, though, you might want to reconsider. Shops, the fresh market and minibuses (marshrutka) were 20-30 minutes away on foot, depending on your pace and route. The walk wasn’t boring, with abandoned Soviet Era state properties along the way. I was there at the end of September and start of October, and the weather was still warm and nice. We took a taxi to Sataplia and Prometheus caves with a reliable driver recommended by host Levan. The owners Nato and her husband Levan, along with the rest of the family, were so helpful and polite. They gave us a reliable taxi number and tips on nearby sights, and it was nice chatting with them. Nato treated us to her delicious homemade fried squash dish and big pieces of cake. We stayed just three days, and I absolutely loved the hospitality. Our first-floor room had three twin beds, AC/HEATER, blankets, and a private shower and toilet. It was very clean, with no leaks, hot and cold water, and two bath towels and two hand towels. Nato would gladly bring more if needed. The curtains were beautiful and see-through, but people couldn’t see in during the day. The shared kitchen was spacious, with a big table, plenty of good chairs, a kettle, plates, cups, cutlery and a saucepan. There were also free Greenfield Kenyan Sunrise tea bags, my favorite, instant Nescafe coffee and sugar, though we had brought our own. In the little yard, there were two friendly dogs, and one was happy to be petted. I’m glad the first guest house I found online made the trip so pleasant, especially for my youngest brother. In Georgia, I’d usually ask relatives and friends for information, but this time I just Googled and talked to the owners. My advice is to ask questions, explain what you need or any special circumstances, and get the details from the guest house owners. Thank you for everything. 😊
