Hotel Grand

The view is gorgeous, especially in the morning, and the hotel is right in the center with good service. The rooms could have been cleaner, though, particularly the carpet. It seemed like it needed a better vacuum, and some of the furniture could use a touch-up. Breakfast may not be for you if you don’t like boiled eggs.

The noise and room condition made this a really disappointing stay. My room on the 5th floor, number 510, had shabby walls with cracks, and it was dirty and not soundproof. I wasn't warned at reception about a party on the 6th floor that went on until midnight. You could hear it even on the ground floor. I complained and was offered a room change, which I accepted because I just wanted to sleep after a long day. But the room on the 3rd floor was a much lower standard than what I had paid for. That's not a proper way to resolve problems. The hotel advertises itself as meeting European standards, but in my experience, it definitely doesn't. The pictures were taken just after I got the room. I don't understand how its ratings are so good.

We had a family studio with two rooms, which gave enough space for two adults and one or two kids, and the price was very affordable. Grand Hotel is about 200 m from the center. We visited in early spring, in March, and could see the Zugdidi view from the upper restaurant.

The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, breakfast tasty, and the hotel looked nice, but our two-night stay had some problems. Hotel music was so loud that my friends and I couldn’t sleep. It took a second time complaining before they turned it off. We were meant to pay less, but at first they charged us more because they’d lost our email. In the end we paid less, though the whole situation felt unpleasant.
