They’re short-staffed and take forever to handle events, so they’re not equipped for medium-sized groups. They might manage a group of 15 at best. Any more than that and you’ll be frustrated.

Miklin Hotel is close to Kotoka International Airport and offers a budget-friendly stay. It’s been a preferred venue for conferences and workshops since 1997, though the facilities now feel in need of modernization. Rooms are basic, with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. I experienced inconsistent internet and dated furnishings. Cleanliness was average. Some rooms were tidy, while others showed wear, including stained linens and malfunctioning plumbing. Water pressure in the bathrooms was poor, and hot water was limited. The staff were generally courteous and spoke fluent English, but service could be slow or inattentive when it was busy. There’s free breakfast, a pool and meeting rooms. The gym and salon are minimal or underused. The on-site restaurant has standard Ghanaian and continental options, but the menu lacks variety and food quality is hit-or-miss. Gated access and 24/7 guards provide decent security, making it suitable for solo travelers or overnight layovers. Weekend parties and noise in the hallways can disrupt sleep. It’s best for short stays or budget-conscious guests who put location ahead of luxury. With investment in renovations and service training, it could regain its former reputation. For now, it’s a functional but forgettable choice in Accra’s competitive hospitality scene.

It’s a very nice place, but the hospitality body responsible for hotels should make sure every room meets the standard before a place gets rated. Some rooms at miklin hotel don’t even meet motel standards.
