The room we booked, number 205, had an AC problem, but receptionist Francois was helpful when we arrived and came up with a solution. Solomon helped us the next day too. The room was spacious, and the male receptionists’ excellent service is why I’m giving four stars. The women handling customer service need to work on their etiquette, especially how they answer calls and speak to guests.

Beatrice was an exceptional receptionist, and the whole team made my stay amazing from the first night. Their attention to detail and flexibility really stood out. They’re always looking for ways to serve guests better, and I’d recommend this hotel to everyone.

I had a good time here. The security is good, and I enjoyed the breakfast. Their food tastes good too.

The room itself seemed reasonably priced, but my stay in the deluxe king room was awful. I couldn’t bear to stay another night, and I’m relieved I only booked one. This place needs serious improvement, and I won’t be back. My first impression was poor: the receptionist seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. As soon as I entered the room, a strong smell hit me. Camphor balls were scattered through both the bedroom and bathroom, and the odor was unbearable. I couldn’t breathe properly and spent the night sneezing with a runny nose. The shower barely trickled, so taking a proper shower was nearly impossible. There wasn’t an iron in the room either. If I needed something ironed, I had to hand it over to staff, which was an unnecessary hassle. Mosquitoes were the worst part. I was bitten all night, unlike anywhere else I stayed on my trip in Ghana. I woke covered in bites and worried I might contract malaria, though thankfully I didn’t.

I’d love to return to Ghana, but I’ll be careful about choosing where to stay. My expectations of a hotel are clearly different, and I’m disappointed that the Ghana Tourism industry approved this place as one. For international guests, it’s embarrassing for Ghana’s tourism industry. The bed was painfully hard compared with South African hotel beds, and room service was terrible in my experience. There was no hot water, and I couldn’t tell whether there was a switch to turn it on. On the first night, there wasn’t even a towel in the bathroom. The breakfast was unlike anything I’ve seen in a hotel, and I wouldn’t eat it even at home. Staff didn’t show much hospitality. The reception area was often empty, and workers seemed to have no urgency. The security guard at the gate was dirty, wore flip-flops, and didn’t seem to understand he was at work. As a South African used to a proper hospitality industry, I don’t think this place is worth it. I’m disappointed in myself for booking after someone recommended it. If you’re on a low budget and have low expectations, you could sleep here for a night, then leave in the morning. Given how it operates, I don’t think it should be called a hotel.
