Taking part in releasing baby turtles into the ocean on my last day was unforgettable. I also found it easy to arrange a trip to Nzulezu, and Ben helped me get cash when I ran out. He, his friends, and his family were so welcoming that I’d happily come back to Eco Beach Camp. There aren’t many places to eat nearby, though you can order food from Ben. I also lost phone reception for a day. That was fine for relaxing by the beach, but it could be an issue if you need to work.

Even though we turned up late in the afternoon without notice, Ben welcomed us warmly and made a simple but delicious jolof rice for us. He may be the kindest person in Ghana. The beach was fairly clean, with trees for shade, though keep an eye out for falling coconuts. Trips to the nearby stilted village of Nzuelo can be arranged at the far end of the beach camp.

The staff were so attentive and caring, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay. I loved how peaceful the place felt, with a breathtaking view of the ocean. It was a wonderful visit, and I can’t wait to return next year. I’d recommend it to anyone after a relaxing break and great service.

Everything was perfect for me apart from the missing WiFi. Ben is lovely, and he’ll make you a nice breakfast and bring you fresh coconut 🥥.

We felt like family here. The owners and staff were so hospitable, and it seemed they wanted us to feel at home, not just spend money. Thank you all! The setting right on the beach was lovely and quiet, a real escape from Ghana’s usual bustle. The rooms were clean and we slept well. The Nzulezo Stelzendorf visitor center is just a five-minute walk away. Breakfast was tasty and met all our needs. In the evening they cooked for us and set up a campfire. We also made a spontaneous trip to a village and got to experience the local culture up close. We saw tribal ceremonies, asked the local medicine man about his work, and traveled through the jungle in tree-trunk canoes to see the local gin products. It felt like a real experience, far from tourism, and was one of the highlights of my trip through Ghana.
