The lake is beautiful, though getting there means travelling along a dusty, bumpy road in very poor condition. Fixing it and taking steps to keep the lake safe and draw visitors would benefit both local people and the government.

You can enjoy the breeze off the water in a quiet, relaxing setting. The natural beauty runs right down to the lake's shore, and the whole place feels comfortable and refreshing. Getting out to travel is always lovely, especially when you get somewhere far away.

We were paying over €60 for a room and there was no internet. The loud music was another problem: it came from different places, carried into our room, and started up again in the morning. Dinner was just as frustrating. We were handed a menu, but they had none of our first four choices. When we asked what was available, the options were jallof rice and chick or mixed rice and chicken. For the location alone, the price feels excessive. A similar hotel elsewhere in Ghana would cost a third as much.
