The workers were warm and ready to help, and I especially liked Richard, the pool guy. He’s gentle and takes great care of the pool. The rooms are nice, the food is good, and it’s a comfortable, convenient place for travelers. Great place to be!

The price is moderate, though there’s room for improvement. Water drains slowly from the tub, and mosquitoes take over the place at night. The A/C puts out too much dust, and there’s cat poo everywhere. I was staying in a room with a double bed but got only one complimentary bottle of water on arrival.

The room had problems with nearly everything, from the sink and TV to the toilet, and it didn’t feel like what we had paid for. My fiancé and I arrived around midnight on 31 December 2024. I’d lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and was excited to stay at Rexmar Hotel before our wedding, but less than 24 hours later, at sunrise, we asked to get the remaining nights refunded. We had paid about 5400 for 13 nights, if I remember correctly. Management went back and forth, saying the booking was non-refundable, although nobody had told us that when we arrived. They said it was on the price list and we should have read it. We moved out the next day, at the 24-hour mark, without a refund. We were willing to accept a penalty and get the balance back. After about a week of arguing, they sent us 3000 cedis, which meant we were charged 2400 for just two nights. I’d never recommend a stay here. It was a real disappointment, especially since it was my fiancé’s first time in Ghana and this was his experience.

The owner is down to earth, reception is great, and the pool is clean and nice. It’s a simple hotel with good service, and everything about it felt straightforward and good. My wife and I couldn’t stay on 6 March 2020 because government officials had taken over the place for the Independence Day celebration in Kumasi. We hadn’t paid, but were still disappointed. The owner promised us a free night next time we visited Kumasi, and kept his word on 20 September 2020, giving us a room and breakfast at no charge. We won’t forget that and will surely visit again.
