I’ve visited plenty of Takoradi’s well-known and five-star hotels, but chose Amaja Lodge. It’s serene, affordable, and more comfortable than most of them, with a nice modern design touch.

For an affordable place to stay on a long work trip, this works, but I wouldn’t pick it for a getaway. The other staff are super. Housekeeping is a bit poor, and the housekeeper has been extremely rude during the few times I’ve dealt with her. It’s happened on different occasions, and it’s nothing to write home about. She acts as if guests might be homeless or as if the hotel were some kind of hostel.

I stayed five nights with my fiancee while we looked for a wedding venue, and the nights there were great. The rooms were neat, I liked the room service, and the way they treat occupants felt really caring. Honestly, it felt like a five-star hotel to me. I didn’t take any photos because I’m not a photo lover. It’s a serene place for someone looking for a simple stay.

Breakfast was delicious and filling, and it arrived in my room right on time after they asked the evening before what I wanted. The rooms are peaceful and well kept, and the staff are kind and respectful to visitors. Amaja Lodge is a cozy place to experience Takoradi.

The room had AC, a heater, ceiling fan, TV, fridge, and a working intercom. The environment was clean, and the rooms were generally tidy and maintained. I’m giving it three stars because there isn’t much to enjoy beyond the room.
