It's a quiet, historic, and safe place, though the fittings are old. The staff are friendly but could use some coaching.

I liked the location and the natural feel of the gardens, and the pool adds to the look of the place. The staff were friendly too. But the hotel is old and in terrible shape, and I wouldn't recommend it. I've stayed at many hotels in Takoradi and have noticed poor upkeep as a broader problem. Here, even the executive room they called their best was worse than standard rooms at other hotels. The taps are old, the shower is damaged, the toilet is ancient, and the bathroom is dirty. The hotel needs a full renovation. Until then, save your money and stay elsewhere. It isn't worth the price.

I used to think this was one of the nicest places to stay in Takoradi, but this recent visit was among the worst stays I've had anywhere in the world as a traveller. I had to leave before my booked days were over for my health and sanity. The rooms were stuffy, and the washbasin and toilet were very dirty, with rusty water coming through the pipes. The shower was dirty and rusty too, with knobs that weren't regulated. There were mosquitoes and roaches in the room, and the building walls were very damp. It felt like everything was going wrong, and it seemed the owner cared only about guests' money. I wouldn't recommend staying here for now. If negative stars were possible, that's what I'd give. It was appalling.

It's a peaceful hideaway from the hectic 9 to 5, with good food and a handy location. There are spacious rooms and lots of greenery, and it feels kid-friendly. It gets too dark, though, so more streetlights are needed. Room service could use an upgrade, and food and drinks may cost a bit more than at the usual places.
