Ibisa Hotel

The staff members I dealt with were friendly and did what they could, though I think the restrictions came from the boss. We did get a generator when the power went out, which I appreciated, especially after reading another guest’s account of not getting one. The room itself was spacious and lovely, with a great bathroom, a comfortable king-size bed, and fresh making each day. The building looked decent and recently painted, and its main-road location plus the sign made it easy to find. The little window area with the dining table felt cramped, though, and I bumped my head on the TV there more than once. The wall outlets were square. Service was very inconsistent. There’s no restaurant in the hotel, although they helped us find food on our first night. They advertise to international guests, but I couldn’t charge my phone, watch, or headset using those outlets as an American. When I asked for an adapter, they said there’d be a fee. I objected because every other hotel I’ve stayed at in Ghana has provided one for free, and they eventually gave me one without charge. The Wi-Fi showed up on my phone but had no usable signal in the rooms, since the router was by reception and the cement walls got in the way. They need a mesh system. The customer service was a major letdown, and one star would have been generous.

The phone number listed on your website needs to be changed.

The bathroom and shower were clean, the bedsheets were nice, and the beds were really comfortable. The rooms are spacious and tidy, the price seems fair, and the staff are kind. Everything else was nice too. Approved.

The rooms are nice, but the price is what keeps me from giving it four stars. It feels rather high, perhaps because the hotel is in the prime Race Course area.
