Lord's Hands Guesthouse Hotel

We stayed three nights with family in their bedroom apartment. The compound was lovely, with coconut trees and lots of greenery, and the rooms were clean with comfortable beds. We'll definitely come back on our next trip to Winneba.

The bathroom was a problem: the toilet was dirty and yellow, and the shower drain was clogged. Water took so long to drain that it left a little lake on the floor. The kitchen was missing pans, a knife, and anything to wash dishes with. After we called, it took them about two hours to buy those things and bring them to us. There are no shops or supermarkets nearby, so even getting a bottle of water meant calling a taxi to take us into the city. Electricity came with only 50 cedis prepaid, and we had to buy any more we needed ourselves. They charged more than the price in my confirmation email, which felt dishonest. Their description says they accept Mastercard and Visa, but they wouldn't take any card at all. I had to pay cash straight away, then wait three days for the receipt. I was disappointed, and I don't recommend this guest house.

The compound is peaceful, but there aren't any services nearby, so bring what you need before arriving. Book your room ahead of time, and follow the signs for the last few meters. Google Maps sends you on a longer route.

It really feels like a home away from home. Honestly, I think everyone can stay here, whether you're travelling, with a partner, on business, or with family. I'd recommend it.
