The host said I wouldn’t be welcome with children and wouldn’t check me in, then told me I wouldn’t get my security deposit back. Now he’s replying here as though it’s my fault for booking and paying a deposit. That’s messed up. I’d been content to leave a low rating, but since he’s trying to blame me, I’ll tell people about this on every social media account I can. Taking people’s money, especially when they’re on vacation and short on cash, isn’t okay. I’ll try to get it back through a credit card chargeback. I should’ve listened to my wife, who’d seen similar reviews. The app I reserved through never asked about my children, and there wasn’t a chance to disclose them. The host emailed on the day of the reservation, while I was driving with my family toward the boat, and I answered honestly without realizing it would be a problem. I knew it was a boat, but the online photos made it look enclosed, so I thought it would be fine as long as we didn’t let the kids outside unsupervised. They’ve been on plenty of similar boats without an issue.

Johnny gave us a warm tour of his yacht and plenty of tips for getting around Gibraltar. He was a great host, and I’d definitely recommend staying here.

A unique stay, and the hosts were welcoming. The boat itself is pretty cool, with a view of Gibraltar rock, and several pubs and restaurants at the Marina are an easy walk away. Parking takes about five minutes to reach on foot. The showers are about a minute away and close at night. I’d suggest booking a private suite, since otherwise you’re sharing the boat.

You get amazing views from the yacht, right in a beautiful marina with everything you need close by. Tracey and Johnny are perfect hosts and will give you whatever advice you need to make your Gibraltar visit special. The accommodation is lovely and much more fun than a standard hotel room. You do have to go off the yacht to shower, but you’re also not paying those ridiculous hotel prices.
