The Eliott Hotel

We’ll be back. The cocktails were honestly amazing and brilliantly priced, and breakfast was high quality even as a buffet. The downstairs terrace looks like it might be noisy by the road, but it was actually very quiet. Pickwicks is also worth visiting across the way. The staff were incredibly friendly, including the cleaning team, who were helpful and flexible. You can walk to the high street, though it doesn’t feel like you’re that close. A really lovely hotel.

At the Veranda Bar in your hotel on Eliott Hotel, Gibraltar, I ordered a gin and tonic and was charged double for premium tonic that I hadn’t asked for. The bar staff didn’t ask which tonic I wanted, so I assumed it would be the standard one with gin. When I questioned the bill, they wouldn’t correct it, and I had to pay the full amount. I felt misled and taken advantage of. Staff should explain the tonic choices and prices, then confirm the order before serving. Please take this seriously, refund the difference, and make sure staff are trained to handle orders better.

The facilities were good, and the WiFi was reasonably fast and reliable. Rooms were modern and clean, as the checkout photos showed. Staff were polite and helpful. I’d definitely stay again.

The shower had great water pressure, but the beds were on the soft side, which isn’t good for my back. I’ve never encountered a four-star hotel with no lobby coffee until 10am.
