The staff at Hotel Nuka were so kind when I had some unusual travel logistics to sort out. They helped me get where I needed to go, find the right room, and even brought an extra pillow without making a fuss. I slept well, and the coffee and kettle in the room were much appreciated. In my experience, not many places in Greenland provide those in the room. The little kitchen was useful too, and had what I needed. The shower is comically small, but it worked. I’d happily stay here again. I’ve seen complaints about the view, but that seems a bit silly to me. Not every hotel can have million-dollar views, and a place with those will cost a lot more.

We only ended up here because Icelandair delayed our flight overnight. The room was basic and small, but very clean, and breakfast at the cafe was simple. The staff made the difference: the woman who checked us in was really nice and tried hard to get flight information for us. We also got a shuttle to the airport promptly, without having booked it ahead of time. I'd usually rate a place like this three stars, but the service earned the extra one.

The breakfast was basic, though there was a decent range: coffee, milk, orange juice, muesli, ham, butter, liver pate, boiled eggs, and slices of paprika. Our room also had a small kitchen with a little fridge, two stoves, and a sink, plus dish soap and a brush for washing dishes. Handy if you want to cook and save some money. The bathroom floor was heated and dried out quickly. The room was clean, and the staff were very friendly. They gave me rides to the harbor and airport, and helped me even on a day when I wasn't staying at the hotel. I'm really grateful. There's an elevator too, which is helpful with big suitcases or if stairs are difficult.

Hotel Nuka is right in the town center, with supermarkets less than five minutes away, dining options nearby, and trailheads about a 15-minute walk. We chose it for the location and amenities and were happy with that choice. The room kitchen had the pots and plates we needed for a couple of simple meals. The airport drop-off was the one bad experience. We had told the front desk the day before that we wanted to leave at 9:30AM, then confirmed the same time again that morning. Nobody said that timing might be a problem. At 9:30, the desk asked a driver to take us. He unexpectedly yelled at the front desk, saying, “you guys should be more systematic” and “you can’t have me drive back and forth”. Everyone in the lobby froze. The desk told us to wait by another exit, and a couple of minutes later the driver came out, slammed the door in front of us, and we followed him to his car without knowing what was going on. Luckily, another kind female employee stepped in, told him to go inside, and drove us to the airport in her own car. We were relieved not to ride with the angry driver, who seemed to be driving in a road-rage state. I think management needs to look into it for guest safety. Aside from that driver, everyone at Hotel Nuka was friendly and helpful.

Our flight was canceled, so Air Greenland arranged a night here for us. The room was warm and had a small kitchen where you could make food if needed. The shared spaces are small, though, and the hotel feels cramped. The restaurant is across the street at Café Nuka. I assume the price reflects the basic standard.
