Tourists looking for comfort and an easy stay should steer clear. Check-in today was awful. The standard apartment rooms in the first building looked dirty and poorly maintained: the couch and bedding were soiled, sinks leaked, and both bathrooms had broken toilet seats. There were also old yellow stains around the bathroom corners and toilets. I felt so uncomfortable in this substandard rental that I left right away and paid a little extra to stay elsewhere. The actual condition didn’t match the price or the photos. I’d suggest tourists look around Senegambia instead, where the same price can get you a much better room and hotel amenities. Moving in and out of this apartment took up the whole day of my trip. It was a complete mess and ruined the trip.

I stayed at Blue Ocean Apartments for 90 days, and the staff really made me feel like family. The guards looked out for my safety and helped me get more familiar with the language and local area. Housekeeping kept the apartment in great shape and quickly sorted out anything I needed for laundry or toiletries. The manager was knowledgeable and capable, and did her best to address every issue. I did run into a few challenges, which I think partly came from my own Western expectations. It’s definitely not the US or UK, so patience helps. Still, I had a really good stay and would highly recommend it.

Blue Ocean will be my regular place whenever I visit The Gambia. It was clean, nicely priced, and had what I needed for a comfortable stay. They supplied clean towels and toiletries when needed, along with things like dish soap. The owner communicated well from the start right through to the end, and management was top tier. I enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to friends and loved ones. Thanks for making me feel so welcome. See you next time!

Blue Ocean Apartments made my business trip both restful and productive, and felt like a home away from home. The place was peaceful, quiet, comfortable, and secure, with excellent staff and a caring, very efficient manager. I’m already looking forward to coming back soon.
