The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable, with a lovely African beach feel throughout the property. It's not a luxury resort, but I found it good value and an authentic Gambian experience. Leybato Hotel is right on the beach, with restaurants and shops close by. The ocean views are among the best in The Gambia, and the easygoing, peaceful atmosphere makes it a nice place to relax in the sea breeze. The staff are welcoming and happy to help. The restaurant serves delicious food, especially fresh seafood and local dishes right by the water. It's a lovely spot to watch the sunset with a drink. A good fit for couples, solo travelers, or anyone after peace, nature, and genuine hospitality.

There are mostly locals at this hotel and on the sandy beach right outside, which you can swim at. It's not touristy, and the price is good for what you get. The receptionist was very helpful, arranging an early taxi and breakfast to take with us when we had to leave before the restaurant opened. Our room was spacious and clean, with good air conditioning. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, and the restaurant food was okay but nothing special. Even so, I'd come back.

The restaurant's location is lovely, but that was the only saving grace of our lunch. We waited more than two hours, and the food came out cold, clearly old, and poorly prepared. It was a bad experience, and I'll never eat there again. I can't comment on the hotel itself.
