The place has a friendly, communal feel, and the room price included breakfast, which was great value. There was just one bathroom upstairs. Rooms have ceiling fans and screened windows.

We paid 1,400GMD for one night in a double room. It was clean and good value. No AC, but there was a ceiling fan, bug net and screened windows. The upstairs bathroom was shared by all the rooms.

The shared bathroom shower had really good water pressure, and the beds were comfortable. Our fan was broken, but they replaced it quickly. The housekeeper was helpful and arranged an earlier breakfast since we had to leave early the next day.

I paid 20 euros for the room, and this was a real disappointment. I’d read the reviews and chose it for my last night in Gambia. When I arrived, I asked Daniella about the wifi because I needed to send an email. She was very nice and said it was good, but it wasn’t. There was a power cut, so we had no fan or wifi through the night or the morning. Nobody had warned me that outages could happen, apparently depending on the neighbours and whether the hotel had a generator. No one apologised or offered any gesture afterward. Breakfast was OK, but I had to knock on the kitchen door to ask what was available. It would have been easier if they’d just told us the options: coffee, tea, eggs, bread, jelly and biscuits, but no juice. I understand the worker was busy, though he really wasn’t welcoming. The owner had the same attitude. She just said hello when she saw me. After spending the evening and morning in the dark without electricity, the least she could have done was come over and say a word. At checkout, nobody even said goodbye. I definitely won’t return. If I’d known, I would have stayed at my previous guesthouse. For €5 more, I had good wifi, a good breakfast, air conditioning and good service.
