A quiet, relaxed hotel in a peaceful area, with a craft market and beach just across the road. Kotu bridge and birdwatching tours are about a five-minute walk away. The grounds are lovely, with a wildlife viewing platform, and there’s a nice bar by the pool. Everything was spotlessly clean and well maintained. The shower was very good, with plenty of hot water, and the fan, safe, and late checkout were free. Service was a little slow, though I’d say that’s normal for Africa. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

The jungle setting and wildlife make this place feel unique, unlike those impersonal all-inclusive hotels that could be anywhere. We’ve been returning for years, sometimes two or three times in a year, and it seems to get better each visit. The staff are wonderful without exception and do everything they can for guests. We’ve become good friends with many of them and keep in touch weekly, sometimes daily, when we’re back in the UK. It’s a remarkable place. Give it a try and you’ll almost certainly return.

We really enjoyed our stay in this quiet, clean apartment hotel with a cottage feel. Bai, the manager at reception, and Baz in the restaurant gave exemplary service. There’s a market and some great places to eat nearby, within about a five-minute walk. We’d definitely recommend it and would stay again if we came back.

We met lots of guests who had been coming back for years, some for over 30 years, which says a lot. The hotel grounds were tropical and very well kept, and we could see plenty of birds from the viewing platform. The hotel itself was smart, with custom wooden and metal sun loungers. Staff were helpful and courteous, always with a smile. A really wonderful experience.

The pool area and beach were really nice, with some good places to eat across from the hotel. Rooms are basic but have everything you need, and the staff are absolutely lovely. Had a fantastic stay.
