Kalimba Beach Resort

On our fifth visit to Kalimba in November 2025, we had another wonderful holiday. The location is excellent, the rooms and food are good, and all the staff are fantastic and friendly. This year, though, the wine included in the all-inclusive package was poor quality. The F&B manager came to the restaurant almost every day and often asked guests about the food and drinks. We told him about the wine, and shortly after, during the BBQ, he asked whether we'd also raise it with the General Manager (GM). Just five minutes later, the GM came to our table to ask about our complaint. He said he'd sort it out as soon as possible, and two days later we were surprised with a different, high-quality wine. The room was a little rough, but I guess that's the real African experience! The people are the best, and they'll make sure you have a great holiday.

We had an amazing, relaxing time at your hotel. The room was decent and cleaned every day, and the food was amazing compared with other places I've been to in Africa. The bartenders and poolboys were among the friendliest, smiliest people to have around. We stayed for a long week, and I want to stress that the staff really try hard to give guests a good experience. By Gambian standards, this is a very good hotel. They're willing to go the extra mile, and I arranged a local tour guide at reception to explore the area. Remember to close your apartment doors behind you and use the mosquito nets. The rooms are big, and the local African food is a pleasure to try. We had a very pleasant stay, with such friendly staff. The hotel is right on a tidy, quiet beach with lovely seawater, a great place to relax. The infrastructure could be tidier or better maintained, but don't focus too much on those details. We're in Africa, so don't expect topnotch superior quality. If you enjoy the beach, a relaxing vacation and African culture, I'd recommend staying here. Book some trips with the locals to see real-life Africa in Gambia. It's worth it, a life-experience.
