Iliopetra Rooms

At the listed price of 140€/night, I don’t think this place offers good value or matches what it charges. I’m surprised there aren’t more critical reviews. Here are some examples. The bathroom is literally 2x2 square meters. You can barely get in because the door almost hits the shower, and the shower itself is so small you can hardly stand in it. It’s clear to me why the website has no bathroom photos. I’ve included one for reference. Heating pipes stick out of the floor, which looks unprofessional and isn’t something I’ve seen at other accommodations. The bathroom fixtures and furniture are worn, somewhat random, and look like they haven’t been painted or cared for recently. There’s no sound insulation. We could hear kids in the next rooms and cars outside through the fully wooden entrance door. The balcony door is aluminium, so I don’t understand the inconsistency. Noise made it hard to sleep, and this wasn’t mentioned beforehand. The rooms were clean, and the air conditioning worked. The beds seem to have been upgraded somewhat recently, but the noise was still a problem. Room service was inconsistent. One day, around 10am, the cleaner knocked and immediately unlocked the door to come in because she was “wrapping up her shift” and wanted to finish the room before leaving. That’s not how it’s supposed to work. We were also left with a single bedsheet for a double bed. For the price, I’d appreciate even a little extra effort from the owners. The room had a 20-year-old hairdryer that smelled burned, and not even a Nespresso machine with two pods for morning coffee. There wasn’t a welcome treat on any day. The location is excellent, close to everything, and there’s a huge municipal parking lot next door. When I shared these issues with the owners, they replied, “Have you seen the prices in other places in Milos?” If that’s what you expect from your holiday accommodation, fair enough.
