Julia Apartments

It’s easy to get here by bus or car, and there’s good transport access. The beach is about a five-minute walk, and the supermarket is three minutes down the road. Though the hotel sits between two main roads, the rooms and patio are shielded from the noise. This is a small, welcoming family place. Vasilis answered our questions and helped us get taxi and rental quotes, and the hosts cook delicious family recipes in the taverna. The rooms are clean and plainly decorated, pretty much what you’d expect for the price. We’d be glad to come back.

We were staying at Apollon apartments, but went to Julia's for meals three or four times. We’d stayed here in 2015, and Vasillias still remembered us. The food was good, the setting was pleasant, and the service was very good. His daughter Julia works incredibly hard serving everyone, and Vasillias is a very funny man. It’s well worth a visit.

The bathroom was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned, with dust everywhere. We arrived at 11 pm and then waited two hours for the room to be cleaned. We went through a dozen Dettol wipes disinfecting the surfaces ourselves, and there was even a dead cockroach. Worst hotel ever. I wish Google allowed negative ratings.

We only stayed two nights, and would’ve liked to stay longer if we’d known what lovely people we’d meet. The family is warm and takes time to get to know guests at both the hotel and Taverna Garden. Vasilis is the third generation, and we also met his daughter Julia, who’ll be the fourth. You can see how much people enjoy their hospitality, coming back during the same trip to eat or returning years later on holiday. The rooms are a little older, but have what you need, including a kitchenette. It’s well placed near the beach, about a three-minute walk, with a bus stop across the street for the city and good restaurants nearby. You can also eat at the restaurant on site. We’ll definitely come back :)
