Afrodite Apartments

We chose Agia Effimia as a base for seeing Kefalonia, and it was peaceful and charming without feeling crowded. Driving times worked out to around 20-25 minutes to Myrtos Beach, 25-30 to Antisamos Beach, 40-50 to Petani Beach, 15 to Sami, and 45-50 to Argostoli. The accommodation is close to the port, a lovely spot for an evening stroll, and just a few minutes from tavernas, supermarkets, an ATM, a laundromat, and a pharmacy. Street parking is available. Our room was spacious, clean, and nicely arranged, with a large fridge, hot plate, and kitchen appliances for making a simple meal or coffee or tea. The older building has character. Mister Makis was very helpful and kind, and we enjoyed chatting with him about Greece and Kefalonia. I'd happily recommend it for a quiet holiday.

The place is clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a handy position for reaching the main sights. Makis is warm, helpful, and professional, and helped make our holiday in Kefalonia unforgettable.

We loved how relaxed Agia Efimia felt, with an evening atmosphere that was lively but not too busy. Of all the places we visited, this is where we'd choose to stay again. The location also made it easy to get around the rest of the island, and there are beautiful beaches plus scooter and boat hire close by. Restaurants are nearby too. Makis and Natalie looked after us so well at Afrodite. The apartment had what we needed, including a kitchenette and a cute balcony. Our room was cleaned every day, and the sheets and towels were changed every other day. Thanks, Makis, for the lovely hospitality. We enjoyed every minute. We liked Roadrunners for scooter hire, Boulevard for boat hire, Strawberries bakery, and Cactus, a gorgeous cocktail bar on the sea wall. Assos and Fiskardo were our other favourite spots, and we went to both twice.

We were told before booking that Afrodite Apartments would be under new management for 2023. We only wanted to get away for a couple of days, and ended up being very pleasantly surprised. The location suited us perfectly since my husband can't walk far. The hosts were welcoming and happy to help with anything. The apartment was spotless and cleaned daily, well equipped, and had comfortable beds. The price seemed very reasonable, too. I'd highly recommend a stay and would definitely return.
