Villa Pinelopi

We arrived soaked during some extreme weather. Valentina, the on-site manager, kindly took our clothes and hung them up to dry. When the bad weather continued and the authorities advised us to shelter in place, she checked again and offered to get us food or supplies. Her kindness and care deserve 10 stars.

The rooms are simple, the place is very quiet, and it’s very affordable. That was all we wanted. The location is fabulous, with beautiful gardens all around, and the cleaning lady was very friendly and lovely to talk to. If you’re after a simple Greek stay, this is the place. You’ll need to walk, since there’s no direct taxi. It’s easy to find behind the Fresh Hotel: from the bus stop, follow the walking street all the way down, turn right at the bakery, and it’s literally behind the Louis Vuitton store.

We only stayed two nights and wished we’d booked longer. The room was a great size, with a small kitchenette and bathroom that worked well for us. It was spotless, as was the rest of the property. The apartment-hotel is right in the centre of Mykonos, so the location is great.

The airport transfer was included, which was handy. Cars can't enter Mykonos old town, and we liked how quiet that kept the streets, at least in low season when there are fewer tourists. You do need to carry your bags the last few meters to the hotel, though. Room prices are reasonable that time of year, so I'd suggest visiting in low season. The location is great, and the connected Fresh Boutique Hotel has a lovely garden and a breakfast buffet with lots of choice. The receptionist there was very kind and helpful with anything we wanted to know.
