Dionisis Apartments

Nothing fancy, but the apartment was practical and had the basics we needed, plus a balcony. It felt very Greek. The owner was incredibly kind and helped us many times, even driving us to another town so we didn’t have to get up really early for the bus. The location was great too.

Dionisis Apartments has a great location in Agia Effimia and a few private parking spaces, but we were disappointed and won’t return unless management improves. For a few euros more, Logaras Apartments next door turned out to be much better run. Our “luxury double room” had a broken window and light bulb, a grimy kitchen with a rusty stove, and a bathroom so cramped you had to straddle the toilet to get in. The shower head was missing, leaving only the bathtub, which didn’t feel hygienic to use. This is cheap hostel-style accommodation for backpackers, not a pleasant, relaxing place. The owner is kind, chatty, and very laid back, perhaps too much so, and a bit scatter-brained. He lives in Athens most of the year, and his hobbies seem to take his attention elsewhere, so he only focuses on the hostel occasionally. With better management, Dionisis could be a great option.

There are two receptions side by side for different accommodation, so be careful when checking in, especially if you’re late and tired. We went to the place next door by mistake after mixing up our check-in. Even though our booking was non-refundable, the wonderful host kindly didn’t charge us for that night. Thank you so much.

Very clean, and the landlord was so hospitable. The location is perfect, and the place has simple furniture but everything you need. I’d definitely recommend staying here. Best regards!
