The staff seemed careless, and the room wasn't clean. Breakfast was another letdown: the milk bottle lid wasn't secured, and it fell apart when I picked it up. They also charged extra for air conditioning.

The only thing that could use work is the Wi-Fi connection. Otherwise, we found a roomy last-minute room for three at a pretty reasonable 75 per night, breakfast included. The pool was great, breakfast was fine, and the staff were lovely. It was about a ten-minute walk to the village center and beach. I don't get the bad reviews.

The old, worn towels and bathrooms that need renovating bothered me most. There are other dated details too, like missing closet shelves and furniture in the apartment that could be arranged better. Still, when you tell the two young owners about a problem, they try to help. They inherited Hotel Adonis from their father, who built up quite a little empire here: the hotel takes up half the street. I liked having a direct street entrance to each room or apartment, almost like coming into my own place, and the pool is very nice. People seem to have wildly different opinions of this hotel, and I think it depends on what you're expecting. If you want a resort that's new, spotless, and disinfected everywhere, this isn't it. For a fair price, a good location, and a family feel, it works well. The price is very favorable, and I only spend a few hours here at night anyway. Breakfast is fine by me, even without fried eggs or ham and eggs. There's excellent homemade Greek yogurt, olives, melon, honey, feta, tomatoes, cucumbers, good bread, and olive oil, with the essentials covered. The breakfast room has no air conditioning and can feel a bit stuffy. Like home, not everything is perfect. You're in Greece in a family hotel with an authentic atmosphere, and for the price and service, it's fine.

A great pool, and the room was excellent value: €45 with breakfast, a terrace, a lovely ocean view, and a brand new bathroom. The breakfast was quite pleasant too. I stayed one really nice night at the Adonis in mid aug. I hadn't booked ahead, but check-in was very easy and the staff welcomed me warmly. The bedding was my one downside, since the mattress and pillow were quite hard. Luckily I'd brought my own pillow, so it didn't bother me.

The climb up the steep hill is a workout, so keep that in mind when walking to and from this basic apart hotel. On the plus side, maybe it's a way not to gain weight on holiday ;) Our room was very clean and got tidied every day. The friendly service was great. Breakfast was a standard Greek spread, with bread, feta, yoghurt, fruit, tomatoes, cucumber, coffee, tea, milk, juices, and lovely cakes. Plenty to get the day started.
