A friendly family-run hotel with a typical Greek feel, clean rooms, and a really nice breakfast. There's a good swimming pool nearby at Adonis, and the beds are soft. The rooms are mosquito-free, too. The lovely owners are always there for you.

Christina & Michaelis looked after us every day and made us feel that nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are small but absolutely spotless. There were cold beers and soft drinks in the fridge at very good prices. ♥️♥️♥️

I've stayed at three Agia Galini hotels with high Google scores and lots of reviews, and Avra was the best of them. I had a room facing the sea, with a really nice view, fast wifi, a clean modern room, and great shower pressure. The price felt very reasonable for what they offer. I don't think you have to stay right by the seaside in Agia Galini. A little further in can give you better value for the quality. The owner's service was wonderful and even touching. People around Crete are generally very friendly, but his kindness felt especially sincere. You wouldn't regret staying here. Book the room!

We only had one night at the hotel because we'd already planned the rest of our trip around Crete, which was a shame. Christina was so friendly and welcoming, and explained everything about the place and the lovely village. The room was just right in size, spotless, smelled amazing, and had thoughtful little details. The bed was comfortable and smelled fresh too. There's a tiny garden between the buildings, with a lovely balcony overlooking the trees and flowers. Breakfast was perfect, with everything we needed in a small space, and attentive service for coffee and anything else. Sitting outside on the sofa among the plants and flowers, we felt like we'd known them forever and were their favorite guests. Many thanks! Liz and Ben
