Atlantica Amalthia Beach Hotel – Adults only

We stayed for a week in the new building. I'd recommend booking there, since the bathrooms in the old building are outdated. The reception staff were good, though the breakfast staff seemed a bit bothered. I know it's hard to be smiling and helpful all day, but a little smile would be nice. The hotel is four stars, nothing more. Our room was okay, but the beds weren't comfortable: two singles pushed together instead of one large bed, and even a small movement made them shift. Housekeeping made the room and emptied the bins, but didn't change the sheets unless asked. New shampoo was rare, so we had to remind them. Breakfast was okay, nothing fancy. There are three large pools, but the one closest to the sea is always taken. People leave towels on loungers, then come back hours later. The pool isn't heated. The beach is nearby, with loungers at €5 each, though Agia Marina sometimes has a red flag and swimming in the ocean isn't allowed. The local bus stop is 200 metres away, and it's easy to get to Chania city center. A bus ticket is €2 per person, while a one-way taxi is around €20, so there's no need to pay for an expensive taxi. I might stay here again, depending on.

We enjoyed our stay, especially the friendly service and good food. Rafael served us most evenings in the restaurant and was particularly lovely. The location is great, too. The room's interior felt a bit outdated, but the other facilities were good. Beach loungers cost extra, though they came with a bottle of water.

Nicky and Phil here. We spent 11 days at the hotel from 2nd October, and gave it a full five stars. The room was great, spotlessly clean, with comfy beds, a sea view, and an amazing shower. Restaurant service was friendly and professional. Giannis and Raphael especially made it such fun. A holiday to remember!

The beach front was one of the standout things, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Everything else was top notch, too. Breakfast had loads of choices and was extraordinary. I especially liked the pancakes, so do try those. My only complaint is about the older rooms. You can hear everything the neighbors are doing, and the bathroom needs renovating. At least it was always cleaned very thoroughly.
